NEW DELHI: An Air India flight operating as AI 2939, travelling from Delhi to Ahmedabad, was forced to make an emergency landing at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport late Monday night after smoke was detected in the aircraft’s cargo hold. The flight, which had only recently taken off for its scheduled journey to Ahmedabad, declared an emergency shortly after the alert was triggered, prompting immediate action from the flight crew.According to initial reports from ANI, the aircraft safely touched down in Delhi at approximately 10:20 pm.Air India has not yet issued an official statement, but is expected to release more information once a preliminary assessment is complete.
