Dharmendra passed away on Monday at the age of 89 at his Juhu residence, leaving behind a legacy that feels larger than life. His connection began early, through Hema Malini, who was introduced to the industry by Raj Kapoor. Collaborating with showman Raj Kapoor
Dharmendra first shared the screen with the legendary Raj Kapoor in the ambitious 1970 film ‘Mera Naam Joker’. The film struggled at release but later became an iconic work. Acting alongside Raj Kapoor placed Dharmendra among cinema’s most respected performers. It also marked the beginning of a long professional association with the Kapoor legacy.
Partnering with Shashi Kapoor
He then built a strong on-screen rapport with Shashi Kapoor. Their pairing brought together two different energies, Shashi’s polished charm and Dharmendra’s heroic presence. They appeared in four films, including ‘Krodhi’ and ‘Jani Dost’.

Work with Shammi Kapoor
