Milap: I love John to bits and he loves me too

Milap Zaveri: 'I love John Abraham to bits and he loves me too'

Director Milap Zaveri clarifies his relationship with John Abraham, refuting rumors of a rift after Satyameva Jayate 2’s failure. He emphasizes their strong bond, with John recently calling on his birthday and supporting his latest film. Zaveri expresses a heartfelt desire to direct both John and Harshvardhan Rane together in a future project, stressing his admiration for Abraham’s past support.

It took Milap Zaveri many years to return as a director after the failure of Satyameva Jayate 2, his comeback film Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has gone on to become one of the biggest and cleanest superhits of the year. He then followed it up with Mastiii 4 – the film hasn’t set the box office on fire. In an exclusive interview with ETimes, Milap opened up about John Abraham- the rumour being that things weren’t exactly fine between the two of them. Clarifying the air he said that both of them are very much in touch with each other and get along really well. He said , “ He called him up recently on my birthday and we had a chat, in fact he even supported Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat strongly for me and Harshvardhan Rane. I would love to work with him soon and write something for him”.For him, working with John again isn’t just a professional desire, it’s a heartfelt aspiration. “It’s my dream to direct him and Harsh in a film together. They are doing Force 3 together. But it’s my dream to direct a film with both of them and I will 100% try and think of something that I can fit them both in.”Addressing the noise that followed the film’s debacle, Milap stresses how misleading the coverage was. He says , “ There was a rubbish clickbait article,if you see , I’ve literally said that I let John down. I feel guilty that I let him down and I failed.”. “John has always been there for me and I am what I am today because of John Abraham saying yes to Satyameva Jayate. I love him to bits and he loves me too. And I felt that I let him down. I was upset with myself for failing with him” he added. Milap also shared that it hasn’t been like he has gone with something to John and he’s said no it it. “ Nothing really came my way which I could go to him and redeem myself” he stated. He admits that he too was processing his emotions after the film underperformed. “Maybe I was also going through my own moments of, you know, feeling that I let him down. But nothing really came to me which I could take to him and be worthy of him.”
