Orry appears before Mumbai Police in connection with Rs 252 crore drugs case; AVOIDS interacting with paparazzi - WATCH

Orhan Awatramani, also known as Orry, an influencer and social-media personality, is currently under legal scanner. On Wednesday, he became the centre of a chaotic scene as he arrived for questioning in the Rs 252-crore drugs case. A day before Orry’s appearance, actor-director Siddhanth Kapoor, brother of actress Shraddha Kapoor, appeared before the Mumbai Police to record his statement in connection with the same case.

Orry arrvies at the ANC office

Orry stepped out wearing glasses and a brown patterned shirt, and within seconds, the area outside the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) office was flooded with people. Fans, onlookers, and photographers tried to get a clear view of him. He did not pose or respond to the paparazzi. Instead, he kept his head down while security tried to clear a path for him. As reported by PTI, Orry reached the Ghatkopar unit of the ANC around 1.30 pm. He had originally been asked to appear last Thursday, but he had requested more time and was given a new date.

Why was Orry summoned?

Reportedly, Orry’s name surfaced during police interrogation of Mohammed Salim Mohammed Suhail Shaikh, one of the key accused in the Rs 252-crore mephedrone seizure case. According to police, Shaikh made claims during questioning that he used to organise rave parties in India and abroad. These parties reportedly included select film and fashion personalities, a politician, and even a relative of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim. Orry was among the names mentioned by Shaikh, as per police.Shaikh, also known as ‘Lavish’ because of his extravagant lifestyle, was deported from Dubai last month and arrested soon after. His arrest is linked to the discovery of mephedrone worth Rs 252 crore from a secret drug factory in Sangli, Maharashtra. The Rs 252-crore drugs case is centred around a large-scale mephedrone manufacturing setup. According to police, Shaikh was closely associated with Salim Dola, who allegedly supervised the production and distribution of mephedrone across India. With Shaikh’s arrest, investigators widened their probe and began calling in people whose names were mentioned during interrogation, including Orry. Go to Source
