Centuries-old wounds healing, pain finding closure: PM Modi at Ram temple

PM Modi at Ram Temple ceremony

AYODHYA: Hoisting a ‘dharm dhwaj’ (religious flag) atop the Ram temple to declare the completion of the shrine construction, PM Modi said on Tuesday that “centuries-old wounds are healing, long-standing pain is finding closure, and a centuries-old resolve is finally being fulfilled”. “Today marks the culmination of a 500-year-long yajna, a yajna that remained steadfast in faith and unwavering in belief,” the PM said, recalling the decades-long struggle for the construction of the temple. Modi said if India has to progress, it has to take pride in its heritage and shed its mentality of slavery, setting a target of doing so in the next 10 years. “Today, Ayodhya witnesses a historic turning point in India’s cultural consciousness,” he said.
