Erika Kirk sat with Megyn Kelly during the last stop of the Megyn Kelly Live tour. She spoke about the painful day her husband, Charlie Kirk, was shot and killed at Utah Valley University. Erika Kirk said she still feels no anger toward the man who is accused of killing him, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, or toward his family. She said she wants to stay calm so she can raise her two small children and continue the work Charlie Kirk left behind. Erika Kirk said anger would pull her away from her purpose. She also said she forgave the suspected shooter at Charlie Kirk’s memorial, which many people saw as a very strong and surprising moment. Erika said she will let the government decide his punishment and does not want “blood on her ledger.” She said she wants to stay close to God and keep building Charlie Kirk’s work at Turning Point USA.

Megyn Kelly asked Erika Kirk if she ever feels angry about Charlie Kirk’s death. Erika said she tries very hard not to feel that way because it would only make her heart heavy. She said anger would stop her from doing the things Charlie Kirk trusted her with, like caring for their children, helping Turning Point USA, and staying strong for the team that worked with him.Megyn Kelly then asked what Erika would say to Tyler Robinson or to his parents if she ever met them. Erika Kirk said she would not feel anger and she would not feel pity. She said anything she could wish on them would not be as strong as the justice God can give. Erika said she would simply think, “I am glad I am not you,” and leave the rest to God.Charlie Kirk, who was 31 years old, was shot while speaking to students at Utah Valley University. Police said the shot came from a rifle. The suspect, Tyler Robinson, is now facing serious charges. Erika Kirk said at Charlie’s large memorial that she forgave the suspected shooter. She said hate will not bring healing and that she wants no part in deciding the penalty. She said the government should decide that, not her.Erika Kirk is now leading Turning Point USA, the group Charlie Kirk built. She said she will keep moving forward and will not let anger or fear guide her life.
