Rakul Preet explains why she can’t be friends with Ajay Devgn

Rakul Preet Singh explains why she can't be friends with 'De De Pyaar De 2' co-star Ajay Devgn, saying, 'Jo aapke age group ke hote hain'

Rakul Preet Singh shared her respectful dynamic with veteran actor Ajay Devgn, explaining why she maintains a formal address. Despite not being a newcomer, she acknowledges his extensive experience, leading her to consistently use ‘sir’ out of deep admiration. This professional distance shapes their co-star relationship, even for ‘De De Pyaar De 2’.

Rakul Preet Singh opened up about her respectful bond with De De Pyaar De co-star Ajay Devgn. The actress expressed that though she is not a newcomer in the industry, she still has very little experience compared to the ‘Singham’ actor. Rakul explained why she cannot be ‘dost-dost’ with the male lead of ‘De De Pyaar De 2’. Let’s learn more about it.

Rakul Preet Singh says she can’t call Ajay Devgn her friend

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Rakul Preet Singh said, “Not dost-dost. I think the bond is very… like, respect. For me, he’s still Ajay Devgn, right? You know, he is such a senior actor and an amazing person.”The actress went on to say that she will be addressing Ajay with respect. She said, “For me, it will always be that ‘sir’ thing.”Explaining why she can’t be friends with her co-star, Rakul added, “Jo aapke age group ke hote hain ya younger actors—woh friends ban jaate hain. But with Ajay sir, I still have that ‘sir,’ and I’m not one who can call myself a newcomer, yet I’m still a way less experienced person. So that kind of a relationship (actors who are in your age group or who are younger—they become friends. But with Ajay sir, I still have that ‘sir,’ and I’m not someone who can call myself a newcomer, yet I’m still a way less experienced person. So it’s that kind of a relationship).”
