Oman has unveiled a groundbreaking digital platform, “Oman… The State and The Human,” coinciding with the country’s 55th National Day celebrations and the first official observance of November 20 as the nation’s formal National Day. The initiative combines history, technology, and global engagement to present Oman’s statehood and identity to the world through an interactive, multilingual AI-powered platform.

Celebrating history and continuity

The initiative highlights the historical legacy of the Al Busaidi State, founded in 1744, and traces its enduring influence on modern Oman. By offering a concise historical narrative, the platform illustrates how the Al Busaidi dynasty shaped the country’s institutional framework, civilisational contributions, and long-standing continuity as a sovereign state. This historical perspective anchors the digital experience, allowing audiences to connect past achievements with Oman’s contemporary national identity.

Three tracks of engagement

The platform is structured around three distinct tracks designed to combine education, interaction, and global visibility:

  1. Historical overview:
    • Offers a concise account of the Al Busaidi State’s development.
    • Highlights the dynasty’s role in forming the modern Omani state.
  2. Global greetings in multiple languages:
    • Allows users worldwide to send congratulatory messages for Oman’s National Day in their native languages.
    • A smart AI assistant reads, interprets, and converts each message into Arabic while preserving the original meaning.
  3. Live world map of engagement:
    • Displays the geographic origin of every greeting in real-time.
    • Provides a visual representation of global participation and goodwill messages received from around the world.

Leadership and technical vision

The initiative is led by Hamood bin Mohammed al Azri, who emphasized that the platform serves as a modern gateway to present Oman’s story to international audiences. He highlighted the project’s role in reflecting Oman’s historical depth and continuity while encouraging interaction with people from all nations. The technical framework is overseen by Dr Saeed al Rashdi, who confirmed that the platform aligns with the national vision for digital transformation, as emphasized by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The system features a scalable AI architecture capable of expanding to accommodate additional languages and services in the future.

Public participation and access

The initiative invites the public, both within Oman and internationally, to explore the platform, send greetings, and witness real-time engagement across the globe. The platform demonstrates Oman’s commitment to combining heritage with modern technology, fostering global connections, and promoting a dynamic narrative of statehood. The digital experience can be accessed at: www.omanlegacy.com/OmanLegacy.
