Dharmendra health update: Veteran actor ‘doing better than earlier’ as he recovers at home after hospitalisation

Veteran actor Dharmendra, who was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital a week ago, is “doing better than earlier,” sources told NDTV on Wednesday.The 89-year-old star was reportedly admitted to the hospital a few days before October 31 after experiencing breathlessness. He remained under medical supervision for several weeks before being discharged on November 12. He is now recovering at home while continuing treatment.

Family, friends check on the actor

Earlier this week, Shatrughan Sinha and his wife Poonam Sinha met Hema Malini to inquire about Dharmendra’s health. Sharing a photo with Hema Malini on X (Twitter), Sinha wrote, “Along with my ‘bestest half’ Poonam Sinha, went to meet, greet & God bless our very dear family friend… We inquired about ‘his’, our elder brother’s, and the family’s wellbeing too.”During his hospital stay, Dharmendra received visits from close family members, including wife Hema Malini and sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. Several industry stalwarts — among them Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Govinda — also stopped by to check on the legendary actor.

Family requests privacy amid rumours

After unverified reports about Dharmendra’s death circulated in sections of the media, his family issued a statement urging the public not to spread misinformation. They also assured fans that the actor was responding well to treatment and requested privacy during his recovery.With the latest update confirming that Dharmendra is “fine” and showing improvement, fans and colleagues across the industry continue to send him their wishes for a speedy recovery.
