Priyanka Chopra Jonas CONFIRMS she will dub her own Telugu lines in SS Rajamouli’s ‘Varanasi’: ‘I am practising hard’

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is finally returning to Indian cinema, and she is doing it in style. The global star is stepping back into the world of Telugu cinema with SS Rajamouli’s much-awaited sci-fi action adventure ‘Varanasi’. Her comeback has already created huge excitement among fans, but the biggest highlight has been her confirmation that she will dub for herself in Telugu for the film.

After the film’s grand title and teaser reveal event, the ‘Fashion’ actress shared a behind-the-scenes video on Instagram that gave fans a close look at her preparation. Soon after she posted the video, fans filled the comments section with questions. One fan asked her directly whether she would be dubbing for her role in the film. Priyanka replied, “Yes I am. Practising hard.”

The video began with her practising her Telugu lines for the live event. Wearing a face mask and writing notes for her speech, the ‘Bajirao Mastani’ actress worked on getting every word right before stepping on stage.Chopra was also seen getting slightly nervous as she prepared with her team. At one point, she admitted, “it’s more difficult to speak Telugu in front of a live audience than in a movie.” This honest moment struck a chord with fans and showed how committed she is to her performance.

This is not the first time Priyanka has spoken about the challenge of working in Telugu. Earlier, during an AMA session on X (formerly Twitter), she had shared a brief but honest update about it. When a fan asked her about shooting in a new language, she replied, “It’s obviously not my first language but Rajamouli sir has been so helpful. I will be able to deliver my Telugu lines and live up to your expectations.”

About ‘Varanasi’

The film stars Mahesh Babu in the lead and also features Prithviraj Sukumaran in an important role. PeeCee plays the character Mandakini, and her look from the film has already created a lot of excitement.The title reveal event also featured the first teaser of ‘Varanasi’, which took social media by storm.
