Meera Vasudevan confirms divorce; declares 'I am single now'; Actress ends her third marriage after one year

Actress Meera Vasudevan has taken to social media to announce her separation from cinematographer Vipin Puthiyankam, concluding their one-year union. Reflecting on her journey, she expressed that she is embracing a tranquil chapter in her life. The pair first crossed paths while filming ‘Kudumbavilakku’. This marks Meera’s third marriage, as she commemorates an impressive 25 years in the entertainment industry.

Actor Meera Vasudevan has officially announced that she is divorced. This marks the end of her one-year marriage to cinematographer Vipin Puthiyankam. The actress took to social media to make a direct and heartfelt statement, clarifying her relationship status after months of silence.“I, Actress Meera Vasudevan, aka @officialmeeravasudevan, officially declare that I am now single since Aug 2025. I am at a most wonderful and peaceful phase of my life…,” she wrote. With this announcement, Meera also confirmed that the separation had taken place months ago and this was her formal disclosure to the public.

Marriage to Vipin comes to an end

Meera and Vipin tied the knot in May last year in Coimbatore. This was Meera’s third marriage. The couple first met on the sets of the serial ‘Kudumbavilakku’, where their professional association gradually blossomed into a relationship. Vipin, hailing from Palakkad, has worked as a cinematographer for several television serials, including Kudumbavilakku. He has also contributed to multiple documentaries.Their marriage, however, lasted just about a year. Meera removed all pictures and videos with Vipin from her social media handles, including their wedding photographs, following the announcement.

Previous marriage and personal milestones

Before marrying Vipin, Meera was married to actor John Kokken, with whom she has a son named Ariha. Despite the personal upheavals, the actress recently celebrated a significant milestone, 25 years in the film and television industry. In April, she shared her joy on social media, expressing gratitude for completing “25 years as an actress and artist.” She also mentioned then that she was journeying through the best phase of her life both personally and professionally.

Meera’s film journey and return to television

Though originally known for her performances in other languages, Meera Vasudev earned immense love from Malayali audiences Malayalam film debut opposite Mohanlal in Blessy’s Thanmathra. She went on to act in several films before returning to prominence through television serials. Some of her Malayalam films include ‘Oruvan’, ‘Ekantham’, ‘Kaakki’, and ‘Pachamarathanalil’.
