Set in the boomtowns of Texas, ‘Landman’, starring Billy Bob Thornton, is a modern tale of fortune-seeking amongst roughnecks and billionaires in the world of oil.In the second season, “It gets juicy,” according to Demi Moore. The massive success of Season 1, which debuted on November 17, 2024, grabbed over 35 million global streams, and this weekend Paramount+ returns with a 10-episode second season. ‘Landman’ was also the number one Paramount+ original ever on the service, according to the streamer.As the oil wars unfold, here’s everything you need to know about the premiere date in the US, where to watch, the cast, and much more.

What to expect this season

The sophomore instalment picks up where the tension left off. This season gets deeper into the cut-throat world of oil extraction and the people who risk everything for black gold. Demi Moore’s character navigates this season, and she has earlier teased that Season 2 will start “with a bang”. This season promises to explore what happens when long-buried secrets surface alongside crude oil. “In Season Two, as oil rises from the earth, so do secrets – and Tommy Norris’s (Billy Bob Thornton) breaking point may be closer than he realises,” the makers said.The synopsis says that ‘Landman’ is “a modern tale of fortune-seeking amongst roughnecks and wildcat billionaires – fuelling an oil boom so big it’s reshaping the climate, the economy and geopolitics.”According to the logline for Season 2, Tommy Norris’s (Thornton) breaking point may be closer than he realises. “Facing mounting pressure from M-Tex Oil, Cami Miller (Moore), and the shadow of his kin, survival in West Texas isn’t noble – it’s brutal. And sooner or later something’s got to break.”Co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, the series is based on the podcast ‘Boomtown’.

When and where does ‘Landman’ Season 2 premiere in the US?

The much-anticipated Season 2 of ‘Landman’ will premiere on Paramount+ on Sunday, Nov. 16 at midnight ET/9 p.m. PT (previous day).

How to watch Season 2

Season 2 is available exclusively on Paramount+. Following the first episode on Nov. 16, new episodes will be dropped weekly at midnight ET on Sundays. The second season will have 10 episodes. You can also watch the first season of the series on Paramount+.
