‘Aaradhya is a very normal kid, all credit to my wife Aishwarya’: Exclusive Throwback

'Aaradhya is a very normal kid, all credit should go to my wife Aishwarya': When Abhishek Bachchan spoke about his daughter being in the limelight belonging to a film family' - EXCLUSIVE

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s daughter Aaradhya Bachchan celebrates her 14th birthday today, November 16. Ever since she was born in 2011, Aaradhya has been one of the most popular star kids, however, her parents have always tried to give her a very normal upbringing despite belong to a ‘legendary family’. A while ago, during an exclusive chat with ETimes, Abhishek had credited his wife Aishwarya for the way she’s raised their daughter and seamlessly made her adapt to being in the public eye and yet make her feel like any normal kid. Abhishek had told ETimes, “Thankfully, her mother has seamlessly eased her into this world. I think it was very important and Aishwarya handled it beautifully. It wasn’t made into a big deal for her that both her grandparents are from the film world and both your parents are from a film world. We didn’t make it into a ‘big thing’. It was very normal. She’s a very normal kid, the credit of that should entirely go to my wife because she allows me to go out and make my films and she takes care of Aaradhya. I’m sure it can’t be easy but she’s just a normal kid and very happy being that.” When further asked if she watched his movies, he had said, “She’s happiest playing, going to school, interacting with her friends. She doesn’t really want to compulsively watch movies, she’s happy doing other things. At some level, I don’t want to ask her which is her favourite film of mine. I don’t think I want to because I’ll get a brutally honest answer and I don’t think I’m ready for that (laughs).” On work front, Abhishek was last seen in ‘Kaalidhar Laapata’ and before that, ‘I Want To Talk’. The actor got immense love for his portrayal in both these movies. He even won the Best Actor award at the 2025 Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) for his performance in the film ‘I Want to Talk’, directed by Shoojit Sircar. The film was based on Arjun Sen’s life. Currently, he’s working on ‘King’ along with Shah Rukh Khan. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand.
