AAP’s ‘Rojgaar Do–Samajik Nyay Do’ padyatra enters Day 4 in UP; Sanjay Singh flags power cuts, healthcare gaps in Sultanpur

AAP’s “Rojgar Do–Samajik Nyay Do” padyatra enters its fourth day in UP

The Aam Aadmi Party’s “Rojgar Do–Samajik Nyay Do” padyatra entered its fourth day in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday, covering the stretch from Koorebhar to Katka in Sultanpur. The march, led by AAP UP in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, drew participation from the local crowds at Koorebhar Bazaar, Guftarganj Bazaar, Babuganj and Katra Bazaar. At Koorebhar, a group of young residents met Singh and asked him to raise employment concerns in Parliament. ASHA workers at Patna Chauraha and near the Purvanchal Expressway also approached him with issues related to honorarium and pending demands. Addressing their requests, them, Singh said, “I will raise your voice from the streets to Parliament.”After the padyatra entered Sultanpur, Sanjay Singh referred to his association with the district while raising concerns about local infrastructure. “Sultanpur is my home district. Its suffering is not just data for me—it is my personal pain,” he said.Singh alleged that basic civic facilities in the district had seen “no real improvement” in recent years, pointing to broken roads and neglected infrastructure. He further highlighted the erratic power supply, stating that households receive barely ten hours of electricity a day.Commenting on the district’s healthcare system, Singh claimed hospitals and community health centres face shortages of medicines, testing facilities and medical staff. He also referred to a recent case at a government medical college where an X-ray report was reportedly issued on plain paper, describing it as indicative of wider administrative gaps in the state’s healthcare services. The 13-day foot march, covering nearly 200 km, will travel through Sultanpur and Amethi before concluding in Prayagraj.
