What really happened between FaZe Lacy and Valkyrae during Sisathon stream? Inside the controversy stirring up the streaming world

Popular streamer FaZe Lacy has found himself involved in a heated online controversy due to his recent use of the R-slur during Rachell “Valkyrae” Hofstetter’s Sisathon subathon. The particular incident became viral, and it has generated a lot of hate for Lacy from Valkyrae’s legion of fans. What was a positive and engaging stream from Valkyrae turned into a barrage of hate and frustration for Lacy’s insensitive and tone-deaf comments.Lacy is now under damage control mode as Valkyrae’s fans are leaving no stone unturned to expose his inconsiderate behaviour mid-stream. While the streamer has since apologised, his manner of addressing the situation has garnered even more negative attention, and it appears that the controversy is not ending anytime soon.

How the incident escalated and what FaZe Lacy say during his apology?

The first wave of backlash came from Valkyrae’s fans on November 12, 2025, when FaZe Lacy dropped the “R-slur” mid-stream. This caused a back-and-forth between both fandoms over Lacy’s controversial comments. X user @Awk20000 uploaded a screenshot of this, and it clearly shows a divide over the controversy. Despite Lacy’s insensitive use of the R-slur, his fans defended him, mocking Valkyrae’s fans for overreacting and making the situation into a needless controversy. Adding more context to the situation was another viral 40-second clip on the same day, where another steamer, Brittany ‘Cinna’, confronted Lacy and told him to apologize. He responded by saying, “You just told me to say sorry. I’m sorry for saying that word… for saying the r-word. I was re*arded when I said it…” Cinna was less than satisfied with his apology as she remarked, “Stop doing that! I’m serious. PR trained. Go!” Lacy continued by acknowledging his inconsiderate words and how he wished no harm to anyone.Lacy addressed the backlash more directly the following day, during an IRL stream, where he emphasized that his comments were not about seeking any kind of validation from anyone, saying, “I don’t give a f**k what that community thinks. But out of respect for my friends, Cinna and Valkyrae… I feel really bad that Valkyrae got a lot of bulls**t for a stream she wasn’t even on.” He added that some sections of the online community will always perceive him badly, irrespective of his apology or him trying to do something good. Valkyrae has not commented on the situation as of now, leaving the controversial situation focused primarily on online hate and Lacy’s handling of it.Also read: How tall is Nick ‘Lacy’ really?
