While Prince William and Kate Middleton plan to relocate to Forest Lodge, an eight-bedroom Grade II-listed home in Windsor Great Park, a report claims that two families were asked to move out, as their houses were too close to their “forever home.”

A report by Page Six claimed that two families who resided in cottages close to their mansion had to leave their houses.

“They were told to move out. I guess they were given somewhere else, but they were told they had to move. They were not expecting it,” an outlet reported, quoting a source.

The source further added, “Those houses are very close to the lodge, so they’re not going to want any Tom, Dick or Harry living in those houses if there are going to be royals there.”

The Royals’ Decision To Relocate

The Prince and Princess of Wales have been living at Adelaide Cottage in Berkshire, England, since 2022, having moved there to be nearer to their children’s school. According to reports, the royal couple is expected to move into a new residence later this year.

Located just a short distance from their current home, Adelaide Cottage, the three-storey red-brick house is reportedly intended to be the couple’s “forever home.” According to The Telegraph, the move comes after a challenging period since their relocation to Adelaide Cottage in 2022, marked by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and the cancer diagnoses of both Kate Middleton and King Charles III.

Reason Behind Relocation

According to a source cited by The Sun, “Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind.”

The outlet also reported that the couple faced challenges while living at Adelaide Cottage, pointing to three significant events: the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, and the cancer diagnoses of both King Charles and Kate Middleton.
