Bahadurpur Seat Result 2025 Highlights: Nearly 60% voter turnout recorded; exit polls predict clear lead for NDA

NEW DELHI: The Bahadurpur Assembly constituency in Darbhanga district has drawn considerable attention as voting concluded in the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections on November 6, 2025. The seat, numbered 85 and classified under the General category, has a history of close contests between the Janata Dal (United) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal.

Bahadurpur, part of the Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency, has witnessed tight electoral battles in recent years. In the 2020 Assembly election, JD(U)’s Madan Sahni defeated RJD’s Ramesh Choudhary by 2,629 votes, polling 68,538 votes (38.50 per cent) to Choudhary’s 65,909 (37.03 per cent).

Five years earlier, in 2015, RJD’s Bhola Yadav had won the seat by a wider margin of 16,989 votes over BJP’s Hari Sahani, securing 71,547 votes (45.95 per cent) against Sahani’s 54,558 (35.04 per cent).The constituency had 3,00,009 registered voters in 2020, including 63,242 Scheduled Caste voters (21.08 per cent) and 39,301 Muslim voters (13.10 per cent). Among Scheduled Castes, the Paswan community accounted for 32,700 voters (10.90 per cent), highlighting the Lok Janshakti Party’s potential influence. By the 2024 Lok Sabha election, the electorate had grown to 3,11,991. Voter participation has remained steady, with a 59.39 per cent turnout recorded in 2020.As the counting day nears, Bahadurpur remains one of the constituencies to watch, with both JD(U) and RJD aiming to consolidate their support bases in this politically competitive seat.
