Pune road accident: Truck rams multiple vehicles; six dead, several injured

NEW DELHI: Six people were killed and at least eight others were injured in a road accident near Navale Bridge on the Pune–Bengaluru Highway on Thursday evening. According to officials, a container truck lost control and rammed into multiple vehicles. Two to three heavy vehicles caught fire following the collision.Videos from the scene showed a car crushed between two burning container trucks. The injured have been taken to a nearby hospital. “We are probing how the accident happened. Currently, our priority is to ensure that the injured people receive immediate treatment in the hospital,” said DCP Sambhaji Kadam, Pune police, as quoted by news agency PTI.The fire department sent water tankers to the spot, and firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control. The accident also caused a massive traffic jam on the highway.
