The UAE Ministry of Interior has announced a three-day nationwide field exercise starting November 11, aimed at enhancing coordination and readiness among security and emergency teams across all seven emirates. Residents are urged to cooperate fully to ensure smooth operations and safety.

Scope and timing of the exercise

The exercise will run from November 11 to 13, covering all seven emirates. It will involve the movement of police vehicles, military units, and aircraft across multiple areas, forming a large-scale, coordinated drill to strengthen emergency preparedness. This exercise follows similar initiatives in the past, including a nationwide drill last year called ‘Resilience 1’, which involved police headquarters across the country over a three-day span. In October, the UAE’s National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority conducted a field exercise in Ras Al Khaimah, focused on improving readiness for natural disasters and crisis situations.

Public guidance and safety measures

The Ministry of Interior has issued clear instructions for the public during the exercise:

  • Do not take photographs or record videos of the operations.
  • Avoid approaching or entering exercise sites to prevent obstruction.
  • Motorists should give way to police and military convoys.

Authorities emphasize that public cooperation is essential for the exercise to proceed safely and effectively. The measures aim to protect residents and ensure the smooth execution of the drill.

Purpose and significance

The field exercise is part of ongoing efforts by the UAE to enhance readiness, coordination, and response capabilities among security and emergency teams. By simulating real-world scenarios, authorities can identify operational gaps, improve inter-agency collaboration, and ensure that both natural and man-made crises can be managed efficiently. With participation across all emirates, the exercise reflects the UAE’s commitment to maintaining high levels of national safety, crisis preparedness, and emergency response readiness.
