Tamannaah Bhatia SLAMS Ozempic rumours

Tamannaah Bhatia reacts to her physical transformation, SLAMS Ozempic rumours: ‘A woman’s body is always changing’

Tamannaah Bhatia’s recent physical transformation in her song ‘Ghafoor’ from Aryan Khan’s debut web series ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ set social media buzzing. While some trolls quickly linked her new look to Ozempic, fans have praised her confidence and curves. The actress has now reacted to the chatter surrounding her body and whether she feels pressured to give up her curves to meet global beauty standards.

Tamannaah explains growing up in front of the camera

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar India, the ‘Baahubali’ actress explained that she has always had a naturally slender frame, especially in her 20s. She shared, “I have been in front of the camera since the age of 15 and people have seen me grow up in front of the camera, so there is nothing to hide. Till my late 20s I was a slender body type. That was always my body. This body in which I am right now is technically not new to me. I have grown up like this, and I have stayed like this.”

Tamannaah says a woman’s body is always changing

The ‘Happy Days’ actress admitted that the Hindi audience might perceive her body differently, but she has long been familiar with her own shape. She added, “This might be new for the Hindi belt of the audience, but people have seen my work in so many different films and in so many different bodies, but essentially on the leaner side. But what people need to understand is that a woman’s body is always changing and every five years we see a different version of our own self.”

How pandemic made weight management harder

Tamannaah also opened up about the challenges of maintaining her weight during the Covid period. She said, “For me, Covid hit my body really hard and it became difficult to keep my body in the same weight as it was in my 20s. I struggled with it. I love food, I love to eat my rice, roti, dal.”

Tamannaah on facing the camera with confidence

Speaking about her struggle with self-consciousness, Tamannaah revealed, “While doing all those healthy things, I still had to face the camera, and I began to feel that I don’t want to be conscious feeling a certain size and I’m constantly trying to correct it. I’m feeling like ‘Oh is my tummy outside?’ Because at some point, my tummy was coming out, and I was thinking what is happening to my body.”

Tamannaah says curves are here to stay

Addressing the rumours about Ozempic, Tamannaah spoke about inflammation and how women’s bodies naturally change. She said, “But inflammation is real. Any woman who is going through the cycle, she feels like her body is shifting. I went through the same in my early 30s and my curves are not going anywhere. My curves are not going anywhere because I am Sindhi. That hip and waist is not going anywhere because that is bone structure. I don’t think you will ever see me following global beauty standards because it’s aspirational to be Indian, people love our curves, and I think it’s time that we should embrace that.”
