Sridevi once fell on the floor because of Farhan Akhtar?

Sridevi once fell on the floor because of Farhan Akhtar? ‘I thought, ‘This is it, my career is over,’ says the ‘120 Bahadur’ actor

The ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dubara’ actor Farhan Akhtar is known today and lauded for his writing, direction, and acting. However, growing up, this distinguished artist was just like any other nervous teenager, who thought his career was over even before it took off. During a recent media interaction, the ‘120 Bahadur’ star, Farhan Akhtar, shared an incident from the sets of Yash Chopra’s ‘Lamhe’ starring Sridevi, where he felt his career was over, because the ‘Chandani’ fame actress fell on the ground.

Farhan Akhtar recalls the moment when Sridevi fell on the sets of ‘Lamhe’

During his appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, Farhan Akhtar recalled the incident that happened when he was only 17 years old. Vividly remembering the details of the accident, he first tried to make light of it and said, “Main kaun hota hoon Sridevi ko girane wala! (Who am I to make her fall?)”He then mentioned how, while working as an assistant to cinematographer Manmohan Singh on ‘Lamhe,’ on the lavish set of Yash Chopra, right in the middle of a high-intensity dance choreography sequence, “Unfortunately, such an accident did occur.” He added, “I was Man Ji’s seventh or eighth assistant on ‘Lamhe.’ It was a passionate dance sequence choreographed by Saroj Ji. While Sridevi was rehearsing, Manmohan Singh noticed a stain on the wooden floor and asked someone to clean it. Since I was closest, I ran to wipe it off.”While Farhan bent down to clean the stain, he didn’t notice Sridevi coming to the same spot. He narrated that he was “coordinating with Man Ji when she (Sridevi) walked over, slipped, and fell. I still remember it in slow motion — Sridevi flying in the air and hitting the floor.” “The entire set froze. I thought, ‘This is it, my career is over,’” he added.

How did Sridevi react?

Farhan Akhtar was expecting all things horrifying, but the opposite happened. Sridevi just smiled and said, “‘It’s okay, it happens.’” He recalled how everyone followed her lead and started laughing. “That’s when I finally breathed again,” Farhan said.“I will always be thankful to Sridevi — I truly believe I owe my career to her,” he concluded.

Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming project

Farhan will next be seen in the war drama ‘120 Bahadur.’ Releasing on November 21, the movie is based on the story of 120 brave soldiers who fought at the Rezang La frontier. Go to Source
