Thamma crosses Rs 130 mark on Sunday

Ayushamann Khurrana’s ‘Thamma’ crosses Rs 130 mark on Sunday

Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Thamma’ is performing strongly, crossing the Rs 130 crore mark and poised to become his second-biggest hit. The film is on track to surpass ‘Badhaai Ho’s’ collection. Meanwhile, Khurrana is set for a busy 2026 with three major releases, including ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh 2’ and Sooraj Barjatya’s next, potentially reprising the iconic Prem character.

Ayushamann Khurrana’s Thamma directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal continues its steady run at the box office as it crosses Rs 130 crore mark at the box office. Over its third weekend the film added Rs 80 lakh on Friday, Rs 1.5 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.65 crore on Sunday, thereby taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 131.05 crore. The film is all set to become the second biggest hit of Ayushmann’s career, it is currently in third position. The second position is held by Badhaai Ho which also starred Gajraj Rao, Neena Gupta and Sanya Malhotra. The film had gone on to mint Rs 137.31 crore and Thamma now needs little over Rs 6 crore to take the spot. Thamma happens to be the biggest budgeted film of Ayushmann’s career and it is extremely important for it to cross at least Rs 150 crore at the box office to be called a success. He is expected to be part of Bhediya 2 with Varun Dhawan which will take the horror-comedy universe ahead and take it to the next level. The universe already has films like Stree, Stree 2, Bhediya and Munjya till now. Ayushmann is gearing up for the best year of his career in terms of number of releases in 2026 as there are three big films lined up for him. His first would be Mudassar Aziz’s Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 with Rakul Preet Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Wamiqa Gabbi , next would be the co-production between Karan Johar and Gunnet Monga with Sara Ali Khan and third being Sooraj Barjatya’s next where he would be taking ahead the mantle of Prem with Sharvari. The film is scheduled to have a 60 day shoot at Mehboob studios in Mumbai.
