TikTok creator Tea Tyme, whose real name is Ty Nesha, is facing backlash after she reportedly hit a man while livestreaming on TikTok. The crash happened in Zion, Illinois, on Monday evening, November 4, around 5:46 pm, near Sheridan Road and 33rd Street, according to the Lake and McHenry County Scanner.Police said the victim, Darren Lucas, 59, from Beach Park, was walking when he was hit by Tea Tyme 2015 Ford utility vehicle. First responders rushed to the scene and tried to save him, but he was later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.Lt. Paul Kehrli from the Zion Police Department told Lake and McHenry County Scanner that Ty Nesha stayed at the scene, called 911, and fully cooperated with police. He also said she was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The case is now being reviewed by the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team.

Tea Tyme ‘Ty Nesha’s’ livestream captured the crash moment

A short video from TikTok user @live.catch.up shows the moment the accident happened. The clip appears to be from Tea Tyme ‘Ty Nesha’s’ TikTok livestream earlier that evening. In the video, she was talking with viewers while driving when the phone suddenly shook. Her voice changed as she gasped and said, “I just hit somebody. Call y’all right back.” The shocking clip quickly went viral, and many online users criticized her for driving while livestreaming. Some viewers claimed a child’s voice was heard in the car asking, “What was that?” Reports say Darren Lucas was crossing the road when the vehicle struck him. Police confirmed the driver’s full cooperation, and no charges have been announced yet as the investigation continues. According to Lake and McHenry County Scanner and Prime Timer, Ty Nesha, known as Tea Tyme online, is a content creator, author, and musician from Waukegan, Illinois. She attended Waukegan High School and later studied at the University of Phoenix and Rasmussen University.Her Facebook page lists her as the CEO and educator of Divine Oak Publishing, founded in 2020.
