Sussanne Khan’s mother Zarine Khan, who was Sanjay Khan’s wife passed away on November 7 in Mumbai at the age of 81. She suffered a cardiac arrest. Her funeral took place on Friday according to Hindu customs. The entire family along with many friends from the industry were present for her funeral. One also saw Hrithik Roshan being there for ex-wife Sussanne Khan, being a support to the family. Despite their divorce, Hrithik and Sussanne have remained friends over the years. One also saw Hrithik’s present girlfriend Saba Azad along with him to be there for Sussanne and the family. Here’s recalling the time when Zarine had shared her thoughts on Hrithik and Sussanne’s wedding and how it happened. She had also opened up on the bonding she shared with her ex son-in-law after his divorce with Sussanne. She had once stated, “When Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, had not released, Sussanne pledged a vow of abstaining from sweets for Hrithik’s success. Hrithik honoured his commitment to her and married her soon after the release.”
Hrithik and Sussanne tied the knot in 2000 and they were officially divorced in 2014. The duo continue to remain friends and co-parent their sons Hrehaan nd Hridaan. Earlier in an interview with ETimes, Zarine had said that the duo were on good terms with each other and they really cared for each other. Zarine had said, “He’s [Hrithik] the father of my grandchildren, and our relationship is forever. He still is my son. He and Sussanne are not together, but they are the best of friends, and they take care of each other.”The actor continued to be there for the family during the tough times as one also saw Sussanne’s brother Zayed Khan sobbing while performing his mother’s last rites. Hrithik was seen consoling the bereaved family. Meanwhile, Sussanne’s current partner Arslan Goni was also present. The funeral was attended by many other celebrities like Jaya Bachchan, Bobby Deol, Jackie Shroff among others.
