Sonam Khan recalls shooting first bold scene with Rishi Kapoor

Sonam Khan recalls shooting her first bold scene with Rishi Kapoor in ‘Vijay’: ‘I was indeed a very brave girl’

Actress Sonam Khan took a trip down memory lane as she looked back at one of the most unforgettable moments of her early acting career, the day she filmed her first-ever bold sequence, and that too opposite the late Rishi Kapoor. The actress, who starred with him in Yash Chopra’s 1988 film ‘Vijay’, shared how nervous she felt stepping in front of the camera for the first time.

Sonam Khan recalls her first time facing the camera

Sharing a nostalgic video from the shoot, Sonam wrote,“Reflecting on my first day of shooting for Vijay… I was quite nervous. It was my first time facing the camera, and I was wearing a bikini for the scene, which was shot on Madh Island. Thankfully, everything went well, thanks to Yash ji and Rishi Kapoor Sir.”

Sonam Khan on her debut beachside shoot

In the shared clip, Sonam looks radiant in a stylish outfit as she lies on the beach beside Rishi Kapoor. The scene captures a romantic exchange where Rishi’s character listens to her heartbeat, prompting Sonam to deliver the charming line, “Dhadak nahi raha hai, kuch keh raha hai. Suno kya keh raha hai.”The sequence, set against the calm waves, became memorable for its mix of innocence and glamour. It also reminded fans of the beautiful on-screen chemistry between Sonam and Rishi in ‘Vijay’.

Sonam Khan shares how she overcame nervousness

Recalling the experience, Sonam admitted that she was extremely nervous on the first day of the shoot. Wearing a swimsuit for her very first scene was not easy, but she said that both Yash Chopra and Rishi Kapoor ensured that she felt comfortable throughout. She expressed her gratitude towards them in her post, saying everything went smoothly because of their support.

Sonam Khan on about facing judgement online

Sonam also revealed that she might face online trolling for posting the video, but that does not bother her anymore. She wrote, “Maybe I will get trolled for sharing this reel or maybe not, but I don’t mind, as I was working to support my parents. I was indeed a very brave girl to do my first shoot, especially in a bikini. When I saw this reel today, I just patted myself on the back for being who I was then and who I am today—completely and unapologetically myself. Whether people judge me or not is their prerogative! My parents and the Almighty above know it all, and that is what I care about.”

Fans praise Sonam Khan’s courage and honesty

The nostalgic video quickly caught fans’ attention and filled the comments section with admiration and love. One user wrote, “No ma’am… There’s nothing but love and respect for you! It’s brave of you to share this.” Another added, “You look stunning! Missing Chintu ji ” Many praised Sonam for her honesty and courage in revisiting such a personal memory, while others expressed how much they missed seeing Rishi Kapoor on screen. Go to Source
