National Celebration: PM Modi Attends Grand Event Marking 150 Years of ‘Vande Mataram’ at Indira Gandhi Stadium

A grand national celebration is being held at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium to mark 150 years of India’s iconic national song, Vande Mataram. Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the historic occasion, which commemorates the enduring legacy of the patriotic anthem that inspired India’s freedom struggle and continues to unite the nation. The event, organized by the Ministry of Culture, features cultural performances, tributes, and speeches reflecting on Vande Mataram’s role in shaping India’s national identity. Union Minister for Culture and Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the timeless relevance of the song and its message of devotion to the motherland. As part of the celebrations, Prime Minister Modi unveiled a commemorative postal stamp dedicated to Vande Mataram, symbolizing the spirit of unity and progress. The ceremony witnessed participation from scholars, artists, and students from across the country, highlighting India’s rich cultural and patriotic heritage. The event also underlined the government’s commitment to promoting cultural pride and national consciousness under the vision of a “Viksit Bharat” (Developed India).
