Kantara Chapter 1 box office day 29: Rishab Shetty film maintains steady run, finally crosses Rs 600 crore mark

Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 continues its phenomenal box office run, crossing Rs 601.55 crore net in India. The film’s global appeal is expanding with a Spanish release and strong overseas performance, notably becoming Australia’s highest-grossing Indian film. Actress Rukmini Vasanth discusses her challenging yet rewarding portrayal of Kanakavathi.

Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1 continues to do exceptionally well at the box office. The film is showing no signs of slowing down even in its fourth week. It finally crosses Rs 600 crore mark after 29 days.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Rishab Shetty starrer has earned Rs 2.25 crore pproximately on day 29, taking its total to Rs 601.55 crore (net) across all Indian languages. The report also added that Kantara Chapter 1 had an overall 10.31 percent Kannada, 10.52 percent Telugu, 11.80 percent Hindi, and 17.69 percent Tamil occupancy on Thursday, October 30, 2025.

Spanish release and global response

Meanwhile, the film is set to be released in Spanish. The trailer for the film was recently released and has been met with great response. ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, which will be released in Spain on October 31, is set to showcase its grand visuals and global impact.’Kantara: Chapter 1′ is also enjoying extraordinary success overseas, especially in Australia, where it has become the highest-grossing film in Indian film history. Although the film has been released in Indian languages so far, it has set box office records in many countries. Now that it is being released in international languages, its reception is expected to increase manifold.

Rukmini Vasanth on playing Kanakavathi

In an interview with Cinema Express, Rukmini Vasanth shared, “As Kanakavathi, I had to emotionally connect with the rituals, the music, and the atmosphere. Honestly, Kanakavathi is not anything like me.”She added that the role has a different kind of body language. The actress added, “Isn’t getting to embody different worlds and characters the best part of being an actor? And I have to make it believable, right?”The actress acknowledged the fact that what’s the point of doing a role she couldn’t connect with?
