Darshan Singh Sahsi’s son Arpan who identified his father as the victim of the fatal shooting in Canada, said his father never received any threat, any call for extortion or blackmail. 68-year-old Darshan, the president of the textile recycling company Canam International, was shot dead outside his home in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Monday morning. Darshan was inside his carat the parking lot when a gunman came and fired multiple rounds and fled. First responders tried to save Darshan but failed. Arpan said his father was well-known in the local community and nothing makes sense as he never received any threat from any group.Canam Internation is one of the world’s largest clothing recyclers, Arpan said, adding that his father started off as a farmer in India and then worked on a cruise ship before making his way to Canada. “Of course, we’re devastated because it does not make sense to us,” Arpan said to CBC News. “There was no threats, there was no blackmail, there was no extortion.” After the firing, three nearby schools were placed under a shelter-in-place protocol as a precaution and nobody was harmed. Arpan said he used to go to work with his father every day but was not with him Monday. “I usually go to work with him every day, so I was supposed to be in that truck today,” he said.According to reports,Lawrence Bishnoi gang member Goldie Dhillon claimed to kill Sahsi in a social media post which is now being investigated by the Indian and Canada Police. Goldie claimed that the murder was due to the denial of an extortion demand and it also accused Sahsi of being involved in drug trafficking operation.
