NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief inister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said that some forces were attempting to bring back “mafia raj” and “jungle raj” in Bihar, but the NDA government was determined to prevent that.Addressing an election rally in Raghunathpur, Yogi said, “forces active to revive ‘mafia raj’ in Bihar but nip them in the bud. All NDA allies have decided to thwart the return of ‘jungle raj’ to Bihar.”He emphasised that the ‘double-engine’ government – the term used by the BJP to describe NDA governments at both the Centre and state level – had “zero tolerance for those creating anarchy.” CM went on to say that development projects were underway to enhance connectivity between Ayodhya Dham in Uttar Pradesh and Sitamarhi in Bihar, with investments worth Rs 6,100 crore.Highlighting women’s empowerment initiatives, he added, “Bihar’s women are getting empowered through assistance from the double-engine government. Only a double-engine government can guarantee development and women’s safety in Bihar.”He further accused the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of opposing the construction of a temple dedicated to Goddess Sita in the state. “RJD is opposing construction of temple of Goddess Sita in Bihar,” he claimed. Yogi also cited Union home minister Amit Shah’s recent statement that Maoist insurgency would be eliminated from the country by March 2026, terming it a key national security goal.Urging voters not to support parties he alleged were linked to criminal elements, Yogi said, “Do not allow forces, like RJD and Congress, which embrace criminals, to come to power in Bihar.” Assembly polls in Bihar are slated to take place in two phases, with first phase voting on November 6 and second phase on November 11. Results will be declared on November 14.
