UAE: Police hunt down bank robbery gang in just 3 hours after robbing customer in Fujairah

In yet another display of exceptional policing efficiency, Fujairah Police have dismantled a dangerous gang specialising in robbing bank customers, just three hours after their latest crime in the emirate. The arrest and operation details, announced on social media, adds a new chapter to the Ministry of Interior’s record of rapid and decisive law enforcement successes.

The crime and the chase

According to the report, the case unfolded on the morning of Thursday, 23 October 2025, when Fujairah Police received a report from a woman who had been robbed of AED 195,000 moments after leaving a local bank. According to investigators, the perpetrators deceived the victim by claiming her vehicle’s rear tyre was flat. When she stepped out to check, one of the suspects quickly opened the car door from the opposite side and snatched the cash before escaping. A specialised investigation team immediately began tracking the culprits, combing through evidence and CCTV footage. Within just three hours, authorities identified the suspects, who were already wanted in similar cases across another emirate. Acting in coordination with Sharjah Police, officers moved swiftly to apprehend the gang and recover the stolen amount. Police did not reveal the suspects’ identities or nationalities.

High praise for rapid response

Brigadier Dr. Ali Rashed bin Awash Al-Yamahi, Director General of Police Operations, confirmed that the arrest reflected the force’s readiness and professionalism in handling serious crimes. Colonel Saeed Obaid Saif Al-Kindi, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, noted that the speed of identification and arrest underscored the team’s skill in intelligence work and field coordination. Major General Muhammad Ahmed bin Ghanem Al-Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, commended the officers involved for their “outstanding efficiency and commitment to safeguarding the community.” He said the operation “embodies the Ministry of Interior’s vision for a secure and vigilant society capable of confronting criminal acts with precision and speed.”

Public advisory and related case

Authorities have urged the public to remain cautious when withdrawing large sums from banks and to avoid interacting with strangers near financial institutions. Citizens and residents are encouraged to report suspicious behaviour immediately to ensure a rapid response. The case follows another major arrest just a day earlier in Dubai, where Bur Dubai Police apprehended two masked men at Dubai International Airport, moments before they tried to flee the country. The pair had stolen AED 660,000 from a supermarket overnight, breaking into cash boxes and a main safe. Using AI-assisted tools and forensic evidence, investigators identified and tracked the suspects within two hours, intercepting them before take-off and recovering the stolen money in full.
