Britney Spears’ conservatorship to be re-established?

Britney Spears' conservatorship to be re-established? Family 'terrified' for her well-being after video goes viral

Pop icon Britney Spears has sparked concern among her family after a video of her reckless driving was posted online over the weekend. In a viral clip, the singer was reportedly swerving and cutting lanes while driving after a night out in California.

Britney’s viral video raises concern

Following the viral clip originally shared by Daily Mail, the report now states that Spears’ family fears she may be “losing control.” A source reportedly told the publication that the family has entered “crisis talks” about how to support the singer. The source goes on to state, “There’s a lot of talk about what to do, if anything. How can we protect her from herself?”

Conservatorship to be re-established

The report also adds that there have been talks about the possibility of re-establishing a conservatorship, about 4 years after it ended, with the judge granting the singer control over her personal, medical, and financial decisions, previously under the supervision of her father, Jamie Spears.

About Britney’s conservatorship battle

The controversial conservatorship ended in 2021, after 13 years, following the global #FreeBritney movement. However, the topic remains highly sensitive owing to the backlash that the family received over the allegations that came to light over the course of the legal battle. Meanwhile, fans have defended Spears and called out the paparazzi ‘chasing’ her down the road, up to her home. The videos also drew comparisons to her high-profile breakdown in 2007.

Kevin Federline’s memoir

The renewed attention in Britney’s life comes amid the release of her ex-husband, Kevin Federline’s new memoir, ‘You Thought You Knew’. In the book, he makes all sorts of allegations against Spears, ranging from cheating to drug use. However, a spokesperson for Spears rubbished the allegations saying, “He and others are profiting off her. Sadly, it comes after child support has ended with Kevin. All she cares about are her kids … and their well-being during this sensationalism.”
