Inside Diana Penty’s 100-year-old heritage home

Inside Diana Penty’s 100-year-old heritage home: Farah Khan compares it to Mannat, asks actress to invite Shah Rukh Khan over

Farah Khan and her cook Dilip visited Diana Penty’s 100-year-old colonial-style home in Mumbai, filled with antiques and old-world charm. Amazed, Farah joked about its grandeur and admired the terrace garden. Diana shared family stories, while Farah humorously compared the house to Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat.

Farah Khan and her trusted cook, Dilip continued filming their vlogs and this time around, their road led straight to Diana Penty’s beautiful family home. When they went inside, Farah was amazed by how the house looked like a piece of old Europe right in the heart of Mumbai. The house is more than 100 years old and belonged to Diana’s great-grandfather. Almost everything inside, from the furniture to the decor, was an antique. The house had tall ceilings, big windows, wooden stairs, large doors, and a green veranda, giving it the feel of an old colonial cottage.

Initial reactions and entryUpon entering, Dilip looked around in surprise and asked Farah, “Ma’am, where have we come?” Farah laughed and said, “This is a huge Buckingham Palace. I have brought you to London!” Soon after, Diana welcomed the director with a warm hug. Still amazed by the two-story house, Farah asked, “Is this all your house?” Diana smiled and explained, “Upstairs is me and downstairs is we,” referring to her mother and other family members. She added, “We’re going to mom’s because mom has the proper kitchen.”

Exploring the houseKeen to see more, Farah asked, “Please give me a house tour! What is this place? I feel like I have travelled back in time and arrived at a colonial home!” She noticed a carved wooden table with a mirror and inquired, “How old is this?” Diana’s mother quickly answered, “Over 100 years old.” Speaking to her camera, Farah laughed, “This is over 100 years old — still older than me! I’m so happy to be in a place where things are older than me.”

Kitchen and farmHeading toward the kitchen, Farah exclaimed, “Wow! Look at this kitchen — it’s amazing.” She then asked Dilip, “Have you ever seen a house this beautiful?” With a shy smile, Dilip responded, “No ma’am, never.” Diana added, “I have a farm outside too,” and Farah replied warmly, “How lovely! I feel like I’ve come to a different place. This doesn’t feel like Mumbai at all.”

Diana’s 100-year homeBefore long, Diana’s team started arriving and bustling around. Observing the lively scene, Farah chuckled, “Yeh dekho, heroine ka entourage!” When Diana’s makeup artist hurried in for a quick touch-up, Farah remarked, “Beautiful heroines always come with an entourage!” When asked about how long she had lived in the house, Diana shared, “Since my great-grandfather’s time — exactly 100 years ago. I am the fourth generation living here.” Leading Farah to the upper floor, Diana left her momentarily speechless. “I just want to see what a house this is!” Farah exclaimed. “We’ve seen many big homes, but finding one like this right in the heart of Mumbai…” Diana smiled softly and said, “I guess I am lucky.”

Terrace garden and unique objectsThe terrace garden quickly caught the filmmaker’s gaze, which she called “absolutely beautiful.” Taking in the gentle pastel colours—the pink sofas, floral cushions, and antique lamps—Farah commented, “Everything is so pretty… just like you.” Noticing an interesting object in the living room, she asked, “Please tell me, what is this merry-go-round-like thing in the middle?” Diana laughed and replied, “It’s been here since I was a child! Someone gave it to my grandfather or great-grandfather. I heard it might have come from a World War II shift.”Humour and celebrity comparisonsFarah joked about Diana’s spacious home, saying, “Not even a dance studio in Lokhandwala is this big! It’s as big as Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat living room.” Diana teased in disagreement, but Farah insisted, “I should invite Shah Rukh over.” Diana smiled and replied, “I’d love to have Shah Rukh here!” Go to Source
