Harshvardhan’s ‘nepotism is finished’ remark sparks debate

Harshvardhan Rane urges fans to support Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Thamma’; sparks debate online with ‘nepotism is finished’ remark

Harshvardhan Rane is currently busy promoting his latest release ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’, which hit cinemas during Diwali. The film clashed with Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Thamma’. Recently, the ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ actor, along with Sonam Bajwa, visited a theatre in Gujarat where their film was being screened. The duo interacted with fans, expressed gratitude for their love, and even sparked an unexpected debate with one candid remark.

Harshvardhan Rane’s remark grabs attention

In a video shared by InstantBollywood on Instagram, Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa were seen standing beside the cinema screen after the show ended. Addressing the excited audience, Harshvardhan said,“This Diwali, you supported the films of two outsiders. Ayushmann Khurrana’s film has released along with mine. Watch both the films, please, and enjoy both. This sends a good message out that aap logon ne akele poora ka poora Bollywood se nepotism hi khatm kar diya (you people alone finished nepotism from the entire Bollywood).”His statement instantly drew loud cheers from the crowd. With folded hands, he added, “I hope you like it. And those of you in your family who haven’t watched it, please come once again with them.”

Fans praise his humble message

The actor’s words quickly went viral, with many fans praising him for mentioning another actor’s film in such a generous way. In the comments section of the post, several called him “genuine” and “kind-hearted”.One user wrote, “Pehla banda jo dusro ko bhi support me bola (He is the first man who spoke in support of others).” Another commented, “He also said about Aayushman. True fan.” Referring to his nepotism remark, one more fan shared, “Audience has all the power! Actors should remember that!”

Netizens share mixed opinions on his comment

However, not everyone agreed with Harshvardhan’s choice of words. Some social media users questioned the timing of his remark and felt he should have avoided such statements. One user on X wrote, “It’s his personal opinion. And in my personal opinion and limited experience, SUCH STATEMENTS SHOULD BE STRICTLY AVOIDED.” Another added a sarcastic note, “Wah re Harshvardhan. Outsider vs Nepotism ka game shuru kar diya. Ye log ko bas ek hit mil jaaye, uske baad apna rang dikhaane lagte hain.”
