Pugdundee Safaris unveils new edition of Walking & Mobile Safari in Satpura Tiger Reserve

Pugdundee Safaris, one of India’s leading wildlife tourism operators, has announced the newest edition of its Walking & Mobile Safari at Denwa Backwater Escape in the Satpura Tiger Reserve. Designed for small groups of six to eight guests, the program will run in two exclusive batches—from November 14–18, 2025, and January 23–27, 2026.

The Walking & Mobile Safari offers travellers a rare opportunity to explore Satpura’s wilderness on foot over two days, accompanied by experienced naturalists and supported by a dedicated camp crew. Guests will traverse forest trails, riverbanks, and tribal villages, gaining an intimate view of the reserve’s flora, fauna, and local culture. Evenings will be spent in a mobile camp set up within the buffer zone, equipped with walk-in tents, daily housekeeping, and freshly prepared meals.

“The Walking & Mobile Safari is about slowing down, reconnecting with the wilderness, and experiencing Satpura in its truest form. It’s raw, adventurous, yet deeply comfortable—an offering we are very excited to bring to our guests,” said Manav Khanduja, Co-Founder, Pugdundee Safaris.

The five-day itinerary begins with a stay at Denwa Backwater Escape, where guests can enjoy jeep or boat safaris before commencing the trekking segment. The route includes a full-day trek to the first mobile camp, followed by a scenic hike along the Denwa River featuring multiple stream crossings before reaching the second camp. On the fourth day, guests can join an optional bird walk before returning to Denwa Backwater Escape for the final night. The journey concludes with breakfast on the fifth day.

Each walking day covers approximately 5–7 hours of trekking with scheduled breaks, requiring moderate fitness levels. The camps will operate without electricity to maintain the wilderness experience, with lanterns and flashlights provided for lighting. Guests will have private dry pit toilet and shower tents with bucket baths. While mobile connectivity will be limited, a few points along the trail will offer intermittent signal access.

With limited group sizes, the program is designed to ensure meaningful interactions with guides and minimal ecological impact. Through this initiative, Pugdundee Safaris continues to promote sustainable, low-footprint tourism experiences that highlight the natural and cultural richness of the Satpura landscape
