Police have released CCTV footage of the suspect, described as a white male in his 30s, with short hair and wearing dark clothing at the time of the attack.“This was an absolutely appalling attack on a young woman, and we are doing absolutely everything we can to arrest the person responsible,” said detective superintendent Ronan Tyrer, who is leading the investigation.“While we are following multiple lines of enquiry right now, it’s vital that we get to hear from anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area at the time,” he added, urging people with dashcam or CCTV footage to contact the police. The incident is being treated as racially aggravated, though the force has clarified that it is not being linked to any other ongoing investigations. Also read – British Sikh woman raped in UK: Man, woman arrested again after bail; case classified as racially motivatedLocal community groups have said the victim is of Punjabi heritage, expressing concern over back-to-back hate-motivated sexual assaults.
