Asmongold is getting heavy backlash on X after a former fan said he was rude about their artwork and did not care about his community. The user said they spent 12 hours making a fan art of him, but Asmongold completely dismissed it during a stream. This started a big reaction online, where many people said he has changed a lot and no longer respects his fans the way he once did. Clips and old quotes about him not caring if people are affected by his content also went viral again.

Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt explains why he criticized the artwork

Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt later responded and said the problem was with the size of The Might of Menethil, which is a famous two-handed weapon from World of Warcraft. He said it is one of his favorite weapons in the game and that the fan drew it much smaller than it should be.

He said that was the only reason he reacted that way. He also said he used AI to fix the art himself and made the weapon look bigger. This reply caused even more talk online, as many people did not think his tone sounded respectful toward the fan who created it. More users then came forward with their own thoughts. Some said they used to enjoy his older World of Warcraft streams but feel he has now changed into someone more harsh and uncaring. Many said his old streams were fun because he was playing a character, but now his reactions feel too real and mean. Others said they do not understand how he still has such a large fan base when he speaks so casually about people being upset over his words.
