Sudha is asking for her love story from Anurag Kashyap

Sudha Kongra Prasad is asking for her love story from Anurag Kashyap

Twenty five years is a long time for memories to blur and faces to fade but when it comes to friendship forged in cinema- it is long lasting. And the prime example of this friendship are two maverick filmmakers Anurag Kashyap and Sudha Kongra Prasad. The two of them first met on the sets of Mani Ratnam’s film where Sudha was an assistant director.

As the two of them met after a gap of 15 years, Sudha took to X( formerly Twitter) to talk about their relationship, she wrote, “Fifteen years since we last met, @anuragkashyap72!!! My fav buddy and writer-filmmaker,”

“ I still remember the first day we met twenty five years ago and after just four hours of meeting me as Mani sir’s AD and Hindi bridge between you two, you asked me “so when are you directing your first film – a love story?””!! U finished decoding me in three hours.” she added.

Even after so many years, she still hasn’t given up on her dream of making a love story which will be written by Kashyap and she thought this would be the right time to remind him to write it for her. She wrote,” Though u the darkness guy n me the sunshine person , we remain friends forever .When you writing and GIVING me my love story mister??

Sudha Kongara, known for films like Soorarai Pottru and Irudhi Suttru, often tells stories of hope, resilience, and human spirit while Anurag Kashyap’s universe thrives in the chaos of grey characters and gritty realism. Yet, both share a relentless pursuit of truth in storytelling.

Anurag’s last release was Aishwary Thackeray starrer Nishaanchi which also featured Vedika Pinto, Monika Pawar and Vineet Kumar Singh. While the film got praises from critics but the film hardly made any impact at the box office.
