Archana-Parmeet kept marriage a secret till pregnancy

Parmeet Sethi and Archana Puran Singh kept their marriage a secret till pregnancy: 'It was much before DDLJ'

Actor-filmmaker Parmeet Sethi, celebrated for his work across film and television, recently reflected on the early days of his relationship with Archana Puran Singh. Parmeet known for movies like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ and for directing ‘Badmaash Company’ is now also popular on social media because of his vlogs with Archana and family. Parmeet and Archana have two sons, Aaryamann and Ayushmaan. In a recent interview, Parmeet revealed why him and Archana kept their marriage a secret till pregnancy. He told Pinkvilla, “It was much before DDLJ. We did not announce it to the world because that was the time when actresses were offered no work if they got married. It was not like today, as you see Kajol, Deepika, and Alia working today. So we did not announce it. When Archana was pregnant with Aaryamann, we announced our marriage,”According to him, while many in the industry already knew about their relationship, they chose to officially confirm their marriage only after Archana’s pregnancy.Speaking about what has kept their relationship strong through the years, Parmeet said their partnership is grounded in friendship and understanding. “We don’t get into the trap of being a typical husband-wife. Being friends with each other is very important. Of course, there will be problems, but you have to go into the friendship mode and talk it out. There’s give and take as friends,” he explained. Now together for more than three decades, Parmeet and Archana continue to be admired candid bonding, banter and love that they share. During the same interview, Parmeet also reminisced about their early entrepreneurial venture together. “Initially, Archana and I owned a production house. We started a talk show that was quite similar to Kapil Sharma’s show. I used to write scripts, and Archana did stand-ups,” he revealed.
