Big B to Supriya Pathak, stars who worked with Piyush Pandey

'Advertising Icon' Piyush Pandey passes away: Amitabh Bachchan to Supriya Pathak, a look at stars he collaborated with

Piyush Pandey, the legendary advertising icon, passed away at the age of 70. The Padma Shri awardee was suffering from an infection, and the last rites would be performed in Mumbai at 11 a.m. Tagged as the voice of Indian ads, he became one of the most important strategists in the market, making citizens remember both the tune and the brands. His vision created ads rooted in Indian culture, ranging from commercial names to significant campaigns like Polio. Moreover, Pandey even collaborated with celebrities, breaking the ground and creating a legacy. Here’s a look at the renowned celebrities with whom Piyush Pandey collaborated.

Amitabh Bachchan

During a critical challenge of Polio in the 1990s, Piyush Pandey opted for the firm voice of India’s ‘Angry Young Man,’ Amitabh Bachchan, and created a sense of urgency to promote the vaccination. With the iconic tagline of ‘Do Boond Zindagi Ke,’ the ad played a greater role in making India polio-free. A couple of decades later, the iconic duo collaborated for state tourism, and the ‘Khushboo Gujarat Ki’ campaign with the tagline of ‘Kuch din toh guzaaro Gujarat mai’ flourished in the market, when Amitabh Bachchan was the brand ambassador and showcased various spots of the state. Recently, they shook hands again for a catchy jingle to promote a brand’s waterproofing expertise.

Supriya Pathak

In Piyush Pandey’s first-ever ad for a detergent, Supriya Pathak was featured in the print media (newspapers). The actress showed that something was less, and the tagline said ‘Sunlight ke daam itne, aur chamak dhup si.’

When Piyush Pandey let his own voice to an ad

Yes, Piyush Pandey himself gave the idea and a voice-over for the famous paint brand “Harr Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai” campaign. With the focus on emotions, sentiments, and relatability, he created the initial ad. Later, many variations of the products featured Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Irrfan Khan, and more.

Beyond Bollywood

M.S. Dhoni

Featuring the Captain Cool, Piyush Pandey collaborated with the cricketer for five sketches about a gaming platform. The campaign was themed as ‘Game Badal Do,’ and it indeed did in the market. The sketches revolved around Dhoni’s skills and a method to challenge ourselves to achieve new heights. Go to Source
