Parmeet reveals secret to a happy marriage with Archana

Parmeet Sethi reveals secret to a happy marriage with Archana Puran Singh, shares advice for Aaryamann Sethi and Yogita Bihani

Parmeet Sethi, who is known for his role in Aditya Chopra’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, has opened up about the secret to maintaining a happy marriage with Archana Puran Singh, following reports of a difficult period in their relationship due to ego clashes and misunderstandings. Archana had earlier spoken about the challenges they faced, emphasizing her determination to keep the marriage intact for the sake of their children.

‘Friendship is the key’

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Parmeet shared his philosophy on marriage and partnership. “If somebody wants to maintain their relationship or marriage… everything is individual, of course. But as far as I understand, my philosophy of life, as far as marriage is concerned… you have to be best friends. You will be able to handle everything. You will be able to get out of every problem because there’s going to be communication. There won’t be ego,” he said.He further explained, “We, in fact, had a pact with each other when we got married — we will still live like girlfriend and boyfriend. We don’t want to get into the trap of, now you are my wife, now you will cook for me. It’s not like that. Nothing should change because this is working for us — this relationship, this fun, the friendship that we have. That should be preserved. So, if you can preserve your friendship throughout your life, your marriage will always prosper. ”

Advice on resolving issues

Parmeet added, “Of course, there won’t be any problems, but you have to go back to the friendship mode, talk it out. In a friendship, there is a lot of talk. Ego diminishes. There is a give and take that happens as friends. Then you kind of get the other person’s perspective also. I think that is the secret for a good marriage — at least for my marriage.”

On parenting and giving freedom

The actor also spoke about their son Aaryamann Sethi and his relationship with actress Yogita Bihani. “He knows that we are not the typical parents. So we say, ‘You just chill, relax. There are no set things that one has to do because you are getting married or for getting married. There is nothing like that. You just relax, live your life. You have only one life, live it on your terms, in your own way. What I say, don’t take it on face value what someone else says. Find your own do’s and don’ts in life. You get your own style of living.’ That’s what we advise, anybody actually. Everybody is a little different, but yeah, don’t be a bad person, that’s it.”For the unversed, Parmeet and Archana met at a party after her first marriage ended in divorce. They were in a live-in relationship for four years, and secretly married in 1992, initially keeping their marriage private to protect Archana’s career. They have two sons, Aayushmaan and Aaryamann, and have become a public favorite through their vlogs. Go to Source
