Thamma Movie Review and Release Live Updates

The much-awaited Maddock Horror Comedy Universe film Thamma releases today, 21 October, just in time for Diwali. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna, the movie dives into Indian vampire folklore and is the fifth film in the franchise after hits like Stree, Bhediya, and Munjya. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Thamma mixes horror, comedy, and regional mythology, with Rashmika calling her role as Tadaka a true privilege.

The shoot included exciting cameos, including a six-day sequence featuring Varun Dhawan in a vampire vs Bhediya face-off. Rashmika has also shared behind-the-scenes moments, revealing discussions with director Aditya Sarpotdar about the Indian folklore that inspired many parts of the story.

Releasing on 4,000 screens across India, Thamma has generated modest pre-release buzz. Early estimates suggest a first-day collection of Rs 4-6 crore, with an opening weekend target of Rs 18-20 crore. While it may not match last year’s Diwali hits like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, audiences are eager to see how the film balances laughs, thrills, and mythology.
