Malaika reveals how friendship with Kareena-Karisma began

Malaika Arora reveals how her close-knit friendship with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor began: 'It’s literally like sister-sister bonding'

Malaika Arora recently opened up about how her close-knit friendship with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor started, crediting her sister Amrita Arora for bringing them together. In a recent interview, Malaika shared that the bond took root in the early years of their careers. How it all began“It was actually my sister. Amu (Amrita Arora) and Bebo (Kareena Kapoor), they were very good friends. They did films together. They have known each other… Back in the day, they had met and connected through common friends. They figured that there was a lot of commonality dono ke beech mei (between them),” Malaika told Pinkvilla. From there, their friendship blossomed. “Uske baad unhone kuch films bhi kiye saath mai (They did some films together). I think their friendship just got stronger and stronger. Then both the sisters came in and became part of the two of them. Then we all started. It’s literally like sister-sister bonding that happened over there,” she explained.Shared values and similar upbringingWhen asked what keeps their bond strong, Malaika credited shared values and life experiences. “We have laughed, we have cried, fought, travelled. Food is a huge factor that binds us. The other thing is, I think we are all very similar. We come from very similar ways of upbringing… similar backgrounds of growing up, parents. I think that is also what got us together… Two girls, sisters, sisterhood, that kind of bonding.”

No big fights, only minor disagreementsWhile the trio rarely engage in major fights, Malaika admitted small disagreements do happen. “Somebody may not have said something, or somebody must have forgotten something, and then you bring it up. Those kind of things. Very very silly or trivial things,” she said.Standing by each other in tough timesFor Malaika, the real test of friendship is being there when life gets difficult. “My family, we went through a tough time; her (Kareena Kapoor) family went through a tough time. That’s what it is. If you are there in tough times with each other, I think that’s what matters the most. I think everything else doesn’t even compare.”She concluded by noting that, no matter how busy they are, they always make it a point to check in on each other, proving that their bond goes far beyond social media posts or public appearances.
