Stand-up comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina rang in Dhanteras 2025 with a lavish addition to his garage. The popular comic treated himself to a Toyota Vellfire, a premium MPV priced at around Rs 1.3 crore in India. Taking to Instagram, Samay shared glimpses of his new ride, giving fans a peek at both the car’s plush interiors and his beaming parents posing proudly beside it.In one of the pictures, Samay is seen posing with the luxury car inside the showroom, while another captures his parents celebrating the milestone with him. He also posted a short clip showing off the car’s sleek interiors and features, which include reclining captain seats, massage functions, and ambient lighting — giving the cabin a private-jet-like feel.
A favourite among stars
The Toyota Vellfire has earned a reputation as one of the most luxurious MPVs in India, often spotted in the garages of Bollywood celebrities, business magnates, and politicians. Powered by a 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid engine paired with an E-CVT transmission, the Vellfire produces around 190 hp and promises a smooth, silent drive. The car is equipped with six airbags, traction control, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and a host of other advanced safety features, making it a top pick for those who seek comfort with security. In fact, Samay joins the elite list of Vellfire owners that includes Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Kiara Advani, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanjay Kapoor, and more recently, Kriti Sanon, who added the same car to her collection earlier this year.
From controversy to comeback
Samay’s big purchase comes months after his YouTube show India’s Got Latent stirred controversy for allegedly promoting obscenity. The show, co-hosted with Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and Ranveer Allahbadia, faced multiple FIRs following a segment that drew public outrage. Soon after, the episodes were taken down from YouTube.Unfazed by the backlash, the comedian bounced back with his India tour titled Samay Raina Is Alive and Unfiltered, which kicked off in Bengaluru on August 15. He went on to perform across major cities including Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, and Delhi, where he wrapped up the tour earlier this month with back-to-back sold-out shows. Go to Source
