The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority has initiated a temporary road closure near University Hospital in Al Juraina to carry out essential maintenance aimed at improving traffic flow and road quality. The closure began on Friday, October 17, 2025, and will continue until Sunday, October 19. Mohammed Bin Musa Al Khwarizmi Street in the Al Juraina area has been temporarily closed by the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) as part of a scheduled maintenance project focused on rehabilitating asphalt layers and enhancing road efficiency. The road runs adjacent to University Hospital, a high-traffic zone where improved road safety and driving experience are critical.According to SRTA, this closure is part of its broader, ongoing initiative to maintain and upgrade Sharjah’s road network to meet high standards of quality and safety. The current works aim specifically to improve traffic conditions in areas that experience heavy congestion, such as Al Juraina. The maintenance is being carried out in a phased manner according to a predefined schedule. In coordination with the Sharjah Police General Command, the authority is actively regulating traffic during the closure to avoid disruption. Alternative routes have been arranged to ease the impact on daily commuters. Al Bada’a Road and several nearby streets have been designated as detour options to keep traffic movement uninterrupted and safe.To assist drivers, SRTA has provided clear directional signage at the site and published maps and route information through its official social media platforms. Road users are urged to plan their routes in advance, follow all posted signs, adhere to traffic regulations, and observe the designated speed limits. The authority emphasized that public cooperation is essential to maintaining safety and ensuring the success of the maintenance work. The closure is expected to conclude on Sunday, October 19, after which the road will reopen with upgraded infrastructure intended to enhance both driving comfort and long-term traffic management in the area.
