Smart parking goes live: Dubai police can now spot fines, seizures, and investigation linked vehicles immediately

Dubai Police and Parkin PJSC have joined forces to digitally link their systems, enabling automatic detection of vehicles with unpaid fines or seizure notices the moment they access Parkin facilities. This integration marks a major leap in smart traffic enforcement and is part of Dubai’s broader digital transformation push.

Real time detection of offending vehicles at parking facilities

Dubai Police will now be able to instantly identify vehicles with pending fines, legal seizure orders, or links to ongoing criminal or traffic investigations as soon as they enter or use a Parkin facility. This is made possible by the direct integration between Dubai Police’s traffic management systems and Parkin’s smart parking and payment platforms. The real-time detection capability allows authorities to take immediate legal action when required. By catching violations at the point of parking, the system enhances enforcement efficiency and reduces the number of unpaid fines and unlicensed or wanted vehicles circulating on Dubai roads.

Strategic partnership signed at GITEX Global 2025

This initiative stems from a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at GITEX Global 2025, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The agreement was formalized between:

  • Brigadier Issam Ibrahim Al Awar, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police
  • Engineer Mohamed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of Parkin PJSC

Senior officers and representatives from both organisations attended the signing, highlighting the institutional significance of the partnership.

Advancing smart city goals through digital integration

Brigadier Al Awar stated that the agreement aligns with Dubai Police’s mission under the leadership of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, to support Dubai’s digital transformation and foster collaboration with both public and private sector partners. The key goals of this partnership include:

  • Full digital integration of systems
  • Seamless and secure data sharing between both parties
  • Enhanced traffic management using real-time information
  • Improved planning and decision-making through data-driven insights

According to Brigadier Al Awar, “This project is a big step forward for road safety in Dubai. It will improve monitoring, ensure compliance with traffic laws, and reduce cases of unpaid fines or unlicensed vehicles on the road.”

Parkin’s role in smarter, safer city infrastructure

Engineer Mohamed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, described the collaboration as a reflection of Parkin’s commitment to innovation and its support for Dubai’s vision of becoming one of the world’s smartest and most sustainable cities. He added: “Together, we aim to make parking and traffic management smarter, safer, and more efficient for everyone.”Parkin, the largest provider of public parking facilities in Dubai, brings to the partnership a wide network of smart infrastructure capable of supporting this real-time enforcement initiative. Through the integration, Parkin facilities will effectively serve as active nodes in the city’s traffic law enforcement system.
