'Less is more': Pankaj Tripathi reveals his secret to festive fitness; says he eats just 5–6 sweets on Diwali

From rich feasts to irresistible mithais, Diwali is surely something we hold several memories. But acclaimed actor Pankaj Tripathi stands out for his self-control. Even during Diwali, the Mirzapur star believes in moderation rather than excess.In a recent conversation with IANS, Pankaj Tripathi shared his simple yet effective approach to staying fit through the festivities. “I don’t eat a lot of sweets, so my weight doesn’t really increase,” he said.

Pankaj doesn’t eat sweets

When asked how he resists festive temptations that most people can’t say no to, the actor smiled and replied, “No, I don’t eat sweets at all. I eat 5–6 sweets on Diwali. I eat cashews and raisins. I eat all the good sweets. Okay, so that is all.” His mindful eating habits reflect the calm and disciplined personality that fans have come to admire both on and off screen.

Back to the sets of Mirzapur in Varanasi

While fans celebrated the festival of lights, Pankaj Tripathi returned to his powerhouse role as Kaleen Bhaiya on the sets of the upcoming Mirzapur movie adaptation. The actor was recently spotted filming a key sequence with Ali Fazal at the iconic Ramnagar Fort in Varanasi. Behind-the-scenes visuals quickly circulated online, sparking excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the film.Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the Mirzapur movie is scheduled to release in 2026 and will reunite its iconic ensemble, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Divyenndu, alongside Abhishek Banerjee.

Revisiting the world of Kaleen Bhaiya

Based on the hit crime thriller series, Mirzapur follows Akhandanand “Kaleen” Tripathi, a feared don and carpet businessman ruling over the Purvanchal region. The original series featured a stellar cast including Vikrant Massey, Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Dugal, and Shriya Pilgaonkar, with new additions like Vijay Varma and Isha Talwar in Season 2.
