Bihar Elections: JDU Releases Second List, Announces 44 Candidates, Total 101 Seats

Janata Dal (United) has released its second list of candidates for the Bihar assembly elections, completing nominations for all 101 seats allocated to the party. The second list includes 44 candidates, following the first list of 57 candidates announced earlier. Notably, three Muslim candidates have been included, reflecting JDU’s effort to ensure representation for minority communities. Many sitting MLAs have received repeat tickets, while some new faces have also been introduced. Key candidates include Manzar Alam from Jokihat, Sagufta Azeem, Shweta Gupta (doctor), Saba Zaffer, Satish Shah from Lokaha, Viva Devi from Nawada (wife of former strongman Rajballav Yadav), and Manorma Devi from Belaganj. Other notable names include Chetan Anand from Nabinagar, Ritu Rajkumar from Ghoshi, and Vashisht Singh from Karghar. Several former MPs and ex-legislators have been fielded for assembly constituencies this time. JDU’s announcement comes amid ongoing election preparations, with the party aiming to consolidate its presence across key constituencies and balance representation for various social groups. The release of this second list completes the candidate lineup for JDU, signaling the final phase of its electoral planning for the upcoming Bihar polls.
