Baahbali 2 which was released in 2017 has continued to be the highest grossing Indian film in the North American market with an overall collection of USD 22 million. No other film has come even close to that mark over the years, hence the anticipation for the re-edited film with a runtime of about 3.50 hours has generated a lot of buzz. As per early numbers coming in, within the first few hours The Epic has minted over US 60,000 from over 100 shows selling almost 3000 tickets in US market. In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, the producer Shobu Yarlagadda shared that the motive to bring back the film on the big screen is to bring back the magic of the film, he said, “ It is clearly just bringing back and reliving the magic. It’s not that we don’t want money, but our focus is not on that.A lot of things have changed in the last 10 years, there’s Dolby Cinema now, the quality of screens have gone up. We couldn’t get IMAX for the first part, we have 4DX now and there are bigger aspect ratios, 1.9 and CinemaScope. So we are trying to provide the best possible cinematic experience. There is a generation that has come up now that has only seen Bahubali on TVs and mobiles or maybe a good home theater, we want them and people who have seen it 10 years ago to experience the magic of a larger than life cinema in theaters the way it was meant to be.”
Bahubali featured names like Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyara
