UP Mahoba: Food Dept Raids Sweet Shops, Samples Collected Ahead Of Diwali

A proactive action has been taken by the Food Department in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, as officials conducted raids in local sweet shops ahead of the Diwali festival. During the operation, teams collected samples of sweets from various shops to check for adulteration and ensure food safety for consumers. The samples have been sent for laboratory testing, and strict action will be taken if any contamination or adulteration is detected. Festival seasons like Diwali often see an increase in the sale of adulterated sweets, putting public health at risk. The department’s timely intervention aims to protect consumers and maintain quality standards in the market. Officials emphasized that such checks are part of continuous efforts to monitor food safety and prevent malpractice during high-demand periods. Residents have welcomed the action, highlighting the importance of vigilance during festive seasons when adulteration risks are higher.
