Armaan recalls working with Bobby Deol in Ba***ds Of Bollywood

'When he smiles...': Armaan Khera on working with Bobby Deol in Aryan Khan's Ba***ds Of Bollywood, lessons he learnt from Shah Rukh Khan

Armaan Khera reflects on his time working on ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’. He praised Bobby Deol’s warmth and grounded nature. Khera highlighted Aryan Khan’s perfectionism as a director, noting the extensive rehearsals. He also shared a valuable life lesson from Shah Rukh Khan about remaining human regardless of success. The series featured Lakshya and Bobby Deol.

Armaan Khera, who is currently basking on the success of Aryan Khan’s debut directorial, The Ba***ds of Bollywood, recently opened up about his experience working with legends like Bobby Deol and Shah Rukh Khan.

Armaan Khera on working with Bobby Deol

In conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Armaan opened up about working with Bobby Deol. He shared, “Sir toh bahut warm hain, bahut rooted aur grounded hain. Aur jab woh smile karte hain na, toh sach mein lagta hai ki Bollywood ek family hai. Sach mein, woh bahut hi present rehete hain. Aur joh welcoming energy hoti hai na, woh aapko hamesha comfortable feel karati hai. Especially set pe, kyunki set pe itne log hote hain, aur itna kaam ho raha hota hai ki sometimes lagta hai, like you forget ki, ‘Achha hum interact bhi kar sakte hain.’ But Bobby sir jaise actors, you know, humein woh remind karate hain ki haan yaar, we’re still humans, hum machines nahi hain, and we can interact.”(“Sir is very warm, grounded, and humble. When he smiles, it really feels like Bollywood is one big family. He is fully present and his welcoming energy makes you feel comfortable. On set, with so many people and so much work, you sometimes forget you can even interact. But actors like Bobby sir remind us that we’re humans, not machines, and it’s okay to connect and talk.”

Working under Aryan Khan’s direction

He further spilled the beans on working under Aryan Khan’s directorial and Shah Rukh Khan’s special cameo. He said, “Aryan toh perfectionist hai. So because of that, kaafi hamara kaam badh gaya tha, which was good! Which is fine, I like working like that. Toh kaafi rehearsals karvaye Aryan ne, aur set pe bhi he was very, very focused. Aryan ko hamesha pata tha ki usko kya chahiye, and that really helped us a lot. Woh cheez ne hum sab ko, I think all the actors can agree, ki usse humein bahut help mili. Kyuki sab prepared the. You know, ab humein pata hai, do-teen rehearsals har scene ke, agar aap do-teen rehearsals kar rahe ho, toh phir aap confidence ke saath jaoge set pe, aur fir best perform karoge.”(“Aryan is a perfectionist, so our work increased, which was actually good—I enjoy working like that. Aryan made us do a lot of rehearsals, and he was very focused on set. He always knew exactly what he wanted, which really helped all of us. I think every actor would agree that being well-prepared with two or three rehearsals for each scene gave us the confidence to perform our best on set.”)Elaborating further, he added, “Sach bataun to mujhe nahi lagta kisi ko story line pata thi. Especially joh twist hai na, I think woh last shoot day tak matlab ek mystery thi. So nobody really knew. Toh jab humne show dekha tha, like when I also watched, mere liye bhi ek surprise tha ki, ‘Oh! Achha yeh story line hai!'(“To be honest, I don’t think anyone really knew the storyline, especially the twist. It remained a mystery until the last day of shooting. So when I watched the show, it was a surprise even for me—I was like, ‘Oh! So this is how the story unfolds!”)

Advice from Shah Rukh Khan

On receiving advice from SRK, the actor shared, “Shah Rukh sir se toh sabse bada takeaway maine liya tha jab main unse pehli baar mili thi. And joh lesson maine seekha hai, woh yeh hai ki you can never be too big to be a human being. You know, aap itne bade nahi ho sakte ki aap insaan na rahein. And that, I think, is the biggest takeaway I took from the show, and just for life in general.”(“The biggest lesson I learned when I first met Shah Rukh sir is that you can never be too big to be human. No matter how successful you are, you should always stay grounded. That’s the biggest takeaway I got from the show and from life in general.”)The Ba***ds of Bollywood starred Lakshya, Bobby Deol, Mona Singh, Sahher Bambba, Anya Singh, Raghva Juyal, and others.
